In 2020, I wrote, recorded, and released my first single ‘Autumn ride’ on Spotify, Apple Music, and other major platforms. Despite it being my first track and bilingual (Korean and English), I’m grateful that it still amassed over 32,000 streams and counting.
There’s a phrase in Korean, 가을탄다, which means you’re catching Fall vibes. As the season changes, so does your mood, as the Fall evokes nostalgia, longing, and loneliness. I thought about how one of my favorite feelings is being in the passenger seat of a car, floating in time as you watch things pass by. So I combined these two moods and tried to Google translate the phrase, where Google gave me this broken translation: Autumn ride.
